this engaging class led by Reno’s Garlic Guru, Earstin Whitten, you will delve into the world of garlic cultivation and planting. Did you know the best time to plant garlic is in the Fall? Learn about planting garlic and garlic varieties that grow well in our region, from the robust softneck to flavorful hardneck and even the milder elephant garlic. You will gain hands-on experience planting cloves, understanding optimal spacing, and prepping the soil for over-wintering. You'll learn about a variety of options for cover crop in our area, applicable for anything you're planting during the colder months.
This class will be held outdoors. Remember to dress for the weather, wear sun protection, and bring refillable water bottles.
