Give

We serve the community through grants and the generosity of individual and business donors. Please consider including a donation to Soulful Seeds in your giving plans this year. You will have an immediate impact on food security and resiliency in our community. You can give with confidence, knowing that Soulful Seeds is committed to using your investment wisely. See our accountability page for more information.

Soulful Seeds is registered as a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization. We accept donations in any amount as well as in-kind support and business sponsorships. All donations are acknowledged and donors receive a charitable tax receipt at year end.

Funding Priorities

#1: General Operating Support

Soulful Seeds maintains low overhead. However, we still incur general operating costs such as water utilities for the garden, Executive Director salary to coordinate staff and community outreach, portable toilets for volunteers to have access to a bathroom, and operational tools, such as this website. Our monthly general operating costs total $4,000.

#2: Grant Matching Funds

Soulful Seeds receives a significant amount of grant funds each year. Many of these grants operate as reimbursement projects and/or as grants that require a matching contribution. We are always in need of community donors who are willing to help us access those federal funds. Our 2024 grant match need is $50,000.

#3: Food Access

Donations made in support of food access assist us with everything related to planting seeds, maintaining the growing spaces, and safely distributing the harvest back into the community. Our monthly food access costs are $3,000.

Sponsor a Same Day Work & Pay Date

Our participants are in need of a hearty, nourishing meal during their long work and training days.

Many lack transportation or extra funds for lunch on hot days in the garden. If you want to see our mission in action, consider providing a hot lunch for our Same-Day Work & Pay crew through our new Sponsor a Same-Day Work & Date Program!

With a donation of $125, you can cover the food costs for a day in the garden, supporting community members in their efforts to grow food and connections through gardens.

Interested in another way to contribute? You can sponsor a date by catering a meal, preparing one, or directly dropping off lunch our garden. There are many ways to get involved!

Shop at the Great Basin Community Food Co-op and round up your total. Proceeds benefit Soulful Seeds every other month!
